SONNET Networking was founded in 1994 under the name Sonora On-line. When the company began to grow beyond the hills of Sonora, the name was changed to SONNET Networking, in March 1995. The company was originally founded to provide dial up Internet access to the residents of Tuolumne County. In 1994, the future of SONNET was still a great unknown. Were there enough people who wanted Internet access? The answer was more than clear.
Today, SONNET Networking is a provider of Internet access throughout Northern California and Northern Nevada. SONNET provides dial up access via modem and ISDN in area codes 209, 530, 559, 775, and 916. DSL service is provided in areas of California and Nevada. Wireless broadband is available in Tuolumne, Calaveras, Washoe, Douglas, and Carson Counties.
